Mazatlán

Mazatlán over the past few years has become one of the most alluring beach destinations in Mexico to visit. This historic city has plenty to offer anyone looking to visit from good food, exciting night life and beautiful, luscious beaches. Get inspired with these top things to do in Mazatlán, Mexico.

The best way to see the city and discover the hidden gems of the city is by taking a guided tour either walking, biking or by bus. Explore the outer areas of Mazatlán, such as the golden zone, and watch the famous cliff divers from prime locations. See sculptural monuments like The Fisherman, 19th century churches and bustling marketplace’s serving local fare.

Beaches
Mazatlán has one of the longest stretches of uninterrupted urban beach in Mexico with the water temperatures being moderate to warm all year round. Most beaches in Mazatlán are full of activity like surfing, windsurfing and other water sports, palapa restaurants and local vendors offering refreshing beverages and food. When you’re ready to dive into these beautiful waters and do some snorkeling you will want to visit Deer Island (Isla de Venados), Goat Island (Isla de Chivos) or Stone Island (Isla de la Piedra). Guides are available to take you to these beautiful, secluded islands.

Stone Island
This is Mazatlán’s most popular daytime destination, it’s an excellent spot to enjoy several different activities all in one place. Stone Island is a magnificent escape from the crowds of the mainland and is just a short boat ride across the navigation channel. You will find miles of sparkling beach lined with palm trees, calm ocean waters and palapa restaurants. The island is great for families because of the calm waters to splash around in and is also ideal for snorkeling. Another fun and popular activity to do here it to take a horseback ride along the beach. There are guided tours that take you through mangroves, coconut plantations and of course along the beautiful sandy beaches.

Old Mazatlán
This is a great place to spend a day of your vacation because there is so much to see and do here. Here you can walk along the Malecón; a four mile boardwalk featuring picturesque statues and plenty of people watching. You will find a lot of day time activity here especially around the hotel zone (Zona Dorada) and plenty of resting spots for a relaxing cocktail in the sun or some delicious fresh fish and other variations of tacos. There is a beach here but it’s not the best for sunbathing, most people come here to jog, bike or just have a relaxing sightseeing stroll.

Kuta Beach
Kuta beach is situated on the western side of the island and is considered Bali’s most famous beach resort destination. Kuta beach has transformed over the years to be one of the most popular beaches due to the growth of hotels, restaurants and shopping options which draw in tourists and locals. This beach was once a simple fishing village and still reflects some characteristic and charm of its quieter days.

Pura Luhur Batukaru Temple
Pura Luhur Batukaru is one of Bali’s biggest Hindu temples, with its location off the main tourist trail, it sees fewer visitors than many of the other temples which helps it maintain its peaceful nature. Its stunning Balinese architecture and its peaceful setting amid the rainforest at the foot of Mount Batukaru is what makes this temple one of the top things to see in Bali.

Hotel Tugu Bali
Even if you can’t shell out the cash to stay at this luxury all-suite hotel you should still make it a point to stop by for a visit. This hotel is owned by a once young, poor medical student who has become a collector of ancient artifacts. Today his vast collection of Indonesian art and antiques are housed exclusively in this beautiful museum like hotel. Come immerse yourself in the romantic stories and legends of ancient Indonesian kingdoms and be a part of history.

Adventures in Myrtle Beach

Myrtle Beach rests on the Atlantic coast of South Carolina. As a major travel destination, Myrtle Beach opens its shores to a multitude of activities and sights. Whether it’s golfing, hiking trails, visiting amusements parks, shopping, or dining, you’re bound to find something you love at Myrtle Beach.
Being that there are a million-and-one ways to spend a vacation at Myrtle Beach, we’ve selected and described few of the most exciting below.

Broadway at the Beach
Broadway at the Beach has it all: food, shopping, shows, fireworks, and some of the most thrilling rides. What better way to get a view of the water than by soaring over it from a 50-foot-high zip line. Soar & Explore features more than just a terrifying zip line experience, it also features a 33-challenge obstacle course you can compete for the title of “Most Adventurous.” If that isn’t good enough, you can take a helicopter tour and see everything the entirety of Myrtle Beach

Family Kingdom
In typical Myrtle Beach “fun-for-all” fashion, you can find a huge amusement park juxtaposed to a relaxing beach, known as Family Kingdom. Ride the Swamp Fox wooden roller coasters for a rickety thrill, or the Log Flume water ride for a refreshing splash. There are over 35 rides for the whole family to enjoy: scramblers, coasters, tilters, and twirlers. Get your adrenaline pumping and cool down next door at Splashes Water Park for even more excitement.

Water Sports
Be sure to get out of the amusement parks and take some time to see all of Myrtle Beach’s glory, preferably on a Jet Ski speeding along at 50 miles-per-hour. There are an assortment of water tours that fuel your adventurous side. You can even Jet Ski with dolphins! Experience the ocean in a whole new way through the vast selection of water sports. For a fun (and equally hilarious) time with the family, rent a banana boat and flail around the ocean, trying to stay afloat.

The Secret Virgin Islands

With an average of 800,000 tourists each year, the Virgin Islands is no secret. When two-thirds of the island is a well preserved National Park, it’s no wonder why everyone is flocking to this Caribbean sanctuary. By making a trip during the spring time, before the humidity rises with crowds it’s easy to find a personal piece of paradise. Here are three “secret” spots that show the quiet, peaceful beauty of the Virgin Islands

Isaac Bay
St. Croix is the easternmost territory of the United States; Isaac bay is the easternmost beach on St. Croix. Aside from the beach’s location—and the novelty of it—Isaac Bay is also a serene and secluded spot to relax in the midst of some of the most crowded beaches in the world. With shore-accessible snorkeling and hot-white sand, there’s hardly a downside to spending a day on the east coast, save the hike it takes to get there.

The Baths
Baths Beach is hardly a secret—it ’s one of the most oft-visited spots on Virgin Gorda; nonetheless, the gem-of-a-landmark from which the beach draws its name is usually empty. A short walk down the shore side, a few massive chunks of granite lean up against the sand. On the land-side flake, there’s an opening, maybe a few arm-lengths wide, that leads into a large, white-sand-filled, sea-flooded cavern.

Anegada
Anegada is a coral atoll inhabited by a few-hundred people and thousands upon thousands of lobsters. It is surrounded by that iconic, opalescent, Virgin-Island water and color-drenched reef, but its remoteness attracts hardly a person. Three ferries traverse from the main B.V.I.s to Anegada each week. The hassle of getting there considered, Anegada is worth the effort, especially during the last weekend of November when the island hosts their annual Lobster Festival.
